Stainless steel conical filters, also known as cone strainers or temporary conical filters, are cone-shaped filter elements made from perforated sheet metal or woven wire mesh. They are specifically designed to capture impurities in pipelines during system startup and are commonly installed between pipe flanges in piping systems. These filters offer excellent pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, making them widely used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and pharmaceuticals. As a manufacturer of stainless steel basket filters, we provide customized filtration solutions, including custom sizes and connection types, to meet our customers' specific application requirements. Stainless Steel Cone Filter filtration principle

The fluid flows in from the inlet and flows through the conical filter screen. Solid particles are retained on the surface of the filter screen, while the clean fluid flows out from the outlet. The impurities accumulate on the conical surface and the bottom of the cone. When the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet increases, the filter screen is stopped for cleaning.

 

Usually, during installation, the cone tip should face upstream, providing better flow distribution and lower resistance.

The conical surface has a large area, which is more than twice the cross-sectional area of the pipe. The pressure difference is low and it is not prone to clogging.
